Administrator:
In charge of operations and overall care provided in the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
Director of Nursing (DON):
Oversees all nursing staff, is responsible for monitoring the quality of care delivered, as well as the facility’s compliance with federal and state regulations.
Charge Nurse:
An RN or LVN responsible for the supervision of a unit within a nursing facility.
Certified Nursing Assistant:
Provides the most personal care to residents including bathing, dressing, and toileting. Must be trained, tested, and certified to provide care in nursing facilities that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Social Services Director:
Develops a plan to assist each resident in adjusting to the social and emotional aspects of his or her illness, treatment, and stay in the nursing home.
Activities Director:
Provides ongoing programs of activities designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
Registered Dietitian:
A licensed professional in charge of providing dietary oversight to the resident. Monitors the residents to ensure that their weight is maintained.
Dietary Supervisor:
In charge of the kitchen’s food preparation and services.
